Things I’ve Learned From Blogging

I was looking through my old posts the other day (I deleted many old ones) and couldn’t help but notice how far I’ve come since the beginning. I’ve learned a lot of things from blogging, made a bunch of friends and improved my blog.

I thought I’d share with you some of the stuff I’ve learned from blogging 🙂

#1. Keywords are sooo important! I know my dear friends, you are tired of hearing this, but content is hard to make known without using effective keywords;

#2. It’s better to have one niche. Write about what you love the most! If you have too many subjects going on, people will get confused. But, HEY, it’s okay to try stuff out, to see how you feel about it, I’ve done it!

#3. Social Media is crucial! Not just for sharing your brand new post, but to interact with other bloggers. It’s quite nice to develop a relationship with experienced bloggers plus they can help you share your content;

#4. Forums and communities are a great way to find followers. I don’t know why I have not joined communities and forums earlier. After all, blogging is about building a community!

#5. There will always be negative people on the blogosphere, you just cannot please everyone, the most important thing to keep in mind is not taking things personally;

#6. Titles matter a lot. To be honest I was awful if I look back through the first year or so of my blog titles;

#7. You cannot be creative every single day. That is just not possible, I been there, I tried, been creative every day is mentally exhausting, therefore I decided to post just once per week;

#8. It gets easier with time. It’s quite hard to start blogging from zero, do you know what it likes? It’s like giving without getting anything in return, but I promise it will get better as soon as you find your voice and become authentic;

#9. Interact with your followers. Always respond to comments, and ask questions;

#10. I’ve learned to write down my post ideas straight away, using my phone, note app, etc. Also, I noticed that the more I write, the more ideas I’ll have and you know why? Because I got to know my audience better and I know which content you’ll enjoy reading :);

#11. I learned a lot about Twitter, Google+ and Reddit, about shortened links and hashtags!;

#12. Making money is harder than it looks. I’ll be honest, I have not made a huge income doing blogging, it does not come easy;

a BIG thank– you to all my lovely subscribers!

Hope you’ve enjoyed this post.

I think it is important to be honest and share with others what we have learnt along the way. I am also putting together a list of things I have learnt along the way…..sometimes the hard way…LOL

I agree it’s so important to network with other bloggers. Joining blogging communities has helped me tremendously. Having good titles and attractive pictures for your posts is important too. Connecting with others is key. Yes, it’s not easy to monetize but we’ll all get there eventually.

Niche is important. I often see a lot of bloggers dipping in different areas, and I wonder how they do it!

All very true. I haven’t been blogging that long, but it’s constantly a learning process for me. I really love the community. I tried to keep up blogging every day, and you’re right, it’s really hard to keep up.

Agree to so many of these!! I’m still ironing out my SEO/keyword experience, and sometimes it’s hard to get creative with titles. Blogging is hard work, but I love it!
